Encouragement For Strong-Willed Types

Something I saw in my journal entry from a while back. A very timely and needed reminder.

“A good reminder to self when I get consumed by rage and bitterness over injustice and problems out of my control.

It’s okay to be upset or angry. It’s okay to want justice. It’s okay to voice your concerns and opinions. It’s okay when people misunderstand your single-minded passion and efforts to bring forth change. It’s okay to be frustrated when you seem to be the only person who even puts forth effort even if things don’t go anywhere. At least you can look back and say you tried. Even when or if all people can focus on is your “large obsession” and make flippant comments or unsolicited advice and remarks. That’s okay. Nobody’s perfect and they won’t always be helpful or say the right things when you needed it most.

Continue to be yourself in spite of opposition from others. Learn from your mistakes of course, and work on improvement but for the parts of you that you cannot change, accept it and embrace it. It’s who God made you to be. If people don’t like it, they’re free to take it up with the Creator Himself. 😊 Don’t let people dictate what you can and cannot do or define you. You are who you are for a reason. You being passionate and single minded isn’t a bad thing and having emotions isn’t wrong.

Continue to fight and advocate without backing down and playing God…the latter nearly killed you. Do what you can and don’t worry about the end result whichever way it goes. “
